What is it about?

Provides an overview of and several peer-reviewed academic articles based on the Migrant Border Crossing Study (MBCS). The MBCS, which consisted of two waves (2007-2009 and 2010-2012), examines the border crossing, apprehension, and deportation experiences of more that 1,600 unauthorized Mexican migrants. The authors focus on migrants' experiences with human smugglers, their encounters with US officials, their knowledge of and exposure to anti-immigrant vigilante groups, and exposure to violence along the US-Mexico border.
