Regression is not always to the mode

What is it about?

Shows that, contrary to previous claims, there are some distributions for which regression is to the mean and not the mode.

Why is it important?

Certain mixtures of Normal outcomes have the property that regression is to the mode of the distribution and not the mean. However for certain other mixtures, for example gamma-Poisson and beta-binomial, the reverse is the case.
