What is it about?

This paper analyzes Japan’s quality movement by stressing the importance of product quality upgrading as a driver of economic growth. Importantly, the synthesis provides evidence for Japan’s increased awareness of the importance of quality manufacturing in creating the wealth of a nation. Finally, this study shows that regardless of the shifts in the competitive environment in recent years, product quality upgrading continues to play an important role in Japan’s pursuit of long-term competitiveness and economic dominance.
