What is it about?

This study was an up-to-date meta-analysis that focusing on the correlation between ALDH2 polymorphism and LOAD by comprehending five case-control studies. Our results showed that there was no positive significance between ALDH2 polymorphism and LOAD. Whereas, a tendency that the significance became more positive as the sample size enlarged and men with ALDH2*2 had higher risk for LOAD were observed.

Why is it important?

Our innovation is that this is an up-to-date meta-analysis covering standard case-control studies and scientific analyzing methods. Our conclusion was more acceptable and objective.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great challenge for me as a first author. This article gave me more confidence in studying Alzheimer's disease to find out likely strategy to postpone the progress of the disease.
