Why is it important?
Antibiotic resistant bacteria is becoming a global problem, causing more serious, hard to treat infections and more deaths.
Perspectives
Novel approaches such as antivirulence agents, including inhibitors of biofilm, are needed to better treat antibiotic resistant bacterial infections. These approaches will disarm the bacterial and help the host to better fight the bacterial infection. Some of these agent reverse the resistance of bacteria to current antibiotics.
