What is it about?
Students with autism spectrum disorder often find it hard to apply learned behaviour independently across different settings. This paper reviews research on self-management, in which students learn to monitor and guide their own behaviour, as a way to improve their social, behavioural and academic performance from early childhood through high school.

Why is it important?
Self-management is both a practical classroom tool and a way to improve students' quality of life by giving them more control over their own behaviour. Published in an Arabic journal with an Arabic abstract, the review makes this evidence-based practice more accessible to Arabic-speaking teachers and families.
Perspectives
Self-management gives students with autism more control over their own lives. I hope this review, published in Arabic, helps teachers and families in Arab countries make use of this evidence-based practice.
