Why is it important?

Special education teachers are central to giving students with disabilities an equitable, high-quality education. As inclusive education expands, keeping qualified teachers in the profession requires targeted support. The review highlights the factors that policymakers and school leaders need to address to reduce attrition and improve retention.

Perspectives

Behind every successful inclusive classroom is a well-prepared and well-supported teacher. I hope this review helps decision-makers in Saudi Arabia focus on the conditions that keep qualified special education teachers in the profession.
