Why is it important?

High-frequency ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) is well established as a useful tool for the examination of the anterior segment, especially in eyes with opaque corneas. UBM is a non-invasive tool, it can prove or disprove the presence of adhesions in anterior segment structures, in turn, anterior segment abnormal development could be detected in children.
