The study indicates that the Lerner - Centered (LC) approach supports developing of empathy and patient- centred care amung medical students during the pre clunucal years .

Why is it important?
The study tries to meet the challenge of teaching empathy and patient-centred medical practice through a LC tutoring/teaching process. It is based on the belief that teacher educators have an obligation to "practice what they preach". The main innovation of the study is the attempt to influence students’ empathy and PC by faculty development.
Perspectives
I believe that student-teacher relationships serve as a model for patient-physician relationships and that a parallel process exists between tutoring and medicine. I think that a good way to teach values, emotional and behavioral is through putting into practice the model of Learner Centered (LC) with students. This concept acknowledges the student-teacher relationship through a meaningful dialogue with the students. It seems important that as a part of the professional development processes, facilitators/teachers will be “enriched” in the Student- Centered teaching approach.
