Why is it important?

The study tries to meet the challenge of teaching empathy and patient-centred medical practice ‎through a LC ‎tutoring/teaching process. ‎ It is based on the belief ‎that teacher educators have an ‎obligation to "practice ‎what ‎they ‎preach".‎ The main innovation of the study is the attempt to influence ‎ students’ empathy and PC by ‎faculty development. ‎

Perspectives

I believe that student-teacher relationships serve as a model for ‎patient-physician ‎relationships and ‎that a parallel process exists between tutoring ‎and medicine. I think that a good way to teach values, ‎emotional and behavioral is through putting into practice the model of Learner Centered (LC) with ‎students. This concept acknowledges the student-teacher relationship through a meaningful dialogue ‎with the ‎students. It seems important that as a part of the professional development processes, ‎ ‎facilitators/teachers will be “enriched” in the Student- Centered teaching approach.‎
