What is it about?
Preeclampsia is a dangerous pregnancy complication that can threaten both mothers and babies. This study explored how family support can help pregnant women regularly attend antenatal care visits. We tested a family-centered maternity care (FCMC) approach that involves the mother, her family, and healthcare workers. The study found that when families actively participate and support the pregnant woman, attendance at antenatal care improves, which helps prevent preeclampsia and supports healthier pregnancies.

Why is it important?
Our research shows that family involvement is one of the strongest factors in ensuring women attend antenatal care. This is important because early detection and management of preeclampsia can save lives. By applying the FCMC approach, healthcare workers can enhance family support, improve prenatal care compliance, and reduce pregnancy complications.
Perspectives
Working on this study emphasized how crucial families are in maternal health. I hope it inspires healthcare professionals to engage families actively in antenatal care, making pregnancy safer and more supportive for women.
