What is it about?

The Quality Matters online course rubric was applied to a selection of courses offered in the MOOC format to consider how MOOC design holds up with the QM quality indicators.

Why is it important?

MOOCs were a short-lived "innovation" in online teaching and learning, but they still exist and are evolving. Even beyond the MOOC focus, this paper includes a specific focus on the implications the results have on day-to-day practice of designing online courses.

Perspectives

MOOCs may no longer be a "hot topic", but the findings in this paper continue to apply the MOOCs and other online course offerings.
