The purpose of this paper was to review the methodologies in the published in the main journals of Product Development in the last years.

Results indicate the predominance of studies of the type of causal nature and the description of hypotheses or assumptions. As for the research design, the results demonstrate a definition of the operationalization of the variables, in the same way as the description of the methodological procedures adopted.
