What is it about?
Although living in the period of transition in approach to translation and in spite of being a forerunner of modern Polish poetic diction, Norwid’s translation theory and practice were neither new nor precursory. He paraphrased and domesticated Byron’s texts, allowing for their reductions or/and additions to them. For him the most important thing was to render general ideas of the translated texts.
