What is it about?
The objective of this study was to develop calibration equations for NIR spectroscopic determination of the sweet sorghum forage quality Mediterranean region in Turkey.

Why is it important?
For sweet sorghum, a prediction model was developed with a total of five different parameters (dry matter, crude protein, crude ash, ADF, NDF) and the reliability of these models was tested. It was observed that the obtained results were also compatible with the laboratory results and the literature.
Perspectives
It is possible to predict the feed quality parameters of sweet sorghum with the calibration model obtained in the NIR spectroscopy in terms of the characteristics dealt with by the data obtained, and it will be possible to determine these characteristics in future breeding studies for sweet sorghum with the prediction models
