What is it about?

In this publication, we show a way to overcome the main problem associated with the application of electromigration in desalination: the huge pH variations (acidic at the anode side and alkaline at the cathodic side). The solution proposed does not involve chemicals for buffering but the use of a second electrode to "pump out" the excess of ions at the stone/electrolyte interface.
