What is it about?

This article describes a test method that can be used to evaluate the navigation and obstacle avoidance capabilities of automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). These types of systems are very common on industrial environments, transporting goods from one part of a facility to another. The work presented in this article will be used as the basis for the development of standards through the ASTM F45 Committee on Driverless Automatic Guided Industrial Vehicles.
