Reflective cracking, a very common mechanism by which majority of rehabilitated pavements fail, needs to be addressed during selection of asphalt mixtures. This article compares and recommends index properties that can be calculated using a laboratory test (called disk-shaped compact tension test) to make informed decisions for selectin appropriate type of asphalt mixture.
