What is it about?

Current ice hockey helmet standards do not reflect the loading mechanics for concussion. This research examined three proposed helmet test methods: an ice drop test, boards drop test, and shoulder ram test. The tests were found to produce data that were similar to the published biomechanical literature on head impacts in ice hockey, suggesting that the parameters may be useful in the development of future ice hockey helmet standards.
