What is it about?
The effect of two grades of SBR at 2, 4, 6 and 8 wt% on deformation behaviour of cationic polymer-modified bitumen emulsion by multiple stress creep and recovery (MSCR) test at three different temperatures 58, 68 and 78°C was investigated

Why is it important?
Thus the novelty of the study remains in examination of the effect of SBR structure at different levels of modification on rheological properties of cationic bitumen emulsion using MSCR
Perspectives
It was observed that increasing SBR latex content leads to a decrease in creep compliance (Jnr) of the bituminous residue, whereas increasing temperature leads to an increase in Jnr. The results also revealed that reduction in Jnr is not remarkable for polymer contents higher than 6wt%. Furthermore, comparing the effect of different SBRs revealed that at equal polymer contents, the Jnr of SBR-modified bitumen emulsion residue was found to be twice that of branched carboxylated styrene-butadiene rubber (X-SBR) modified one
