What is it about?

The effect of different aspects used in experiments like camera, lights, size of the region of interest, type of sand, seeding ratio, strain rate, etc. on the precision of the measurement from the DIC technique is investigated experimentally.

Why is it important?

Precision and accuracy are key parameters for any measurement technique and it is crucial to address the aspects which affect these parameters in the DIC technique.


I hope this study will be used as guidelines for performing image-based deformation measurement in experimental investigations.
