Osmotic Oedometer Using Sodium Chloride Solution and Reverse Osmosis Membrane

What is it about?

Using the osmotic technique with PEG solution and cellulotic membrane is problematic due to degradation of the PEG solution and cellulotic membrane. We show that an alternative system of using sodium chloride solution and reverse osmosis membrane in the osmotic technique is applicable in an oedometer setup without the aforementioned problems.
