What is it about?

As the temperature change, the volume of a material will change. This may exert pressure if the material is restricted from expanding. We are able to investigate the behavior of cemented paste used in mine backfill through a new testing apparatus with temperature control. It shows that the abnormal increase in stress is due to the rise in temperature with the presence of arching effects.
