What is it about?
The use of sea sand in concrete can reduce burden on river sand. This use, nevertheless, requires that the properties of concrete made by mixing unwashed sea sand are thoroughly investigated both from the perspective of strength and durability. Concrete mixes made with the replacement of four levels of river with sand sea sand were tested. The results indicated that concrete made with replacement of sea sand up to 50% with the river sand could be suitable for use in concrete structures.
