What is it about?

Desalination is the process of removal of salts from seawater to convert it to drinking water. This process produces a waste, known as desalination reject brine. This waste is often dumped back into the sea, which has negative effects on the quality of seawater. Therefore, in this study, we use this reject brine as mixing water for concrete. We study the strength and volume change properties of the resulting material and show that the reject brine can be used to make good quality concrete.
