What is it about?

Plane strain problems are often encountered in practical engineering. We have developed a new type of plane strain apparatus that can simulate plane stain state, which reveals the plane strain mechanical properties of three types of loess based on the new instrument.

Why is it important?

We have developed a new type of plane strain apparatus and verified its stability and reliability through plane strain tests on three types of loess. Revealed the evolution law of intermediate principal stress and the characteristics of plane strain characteristics under plane strain conditions.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it provides a new instrument and means for studying the plane strain mechanical properties of soil. This article also led to the special mechanical state of soil research groups contact me, and ultimately to a greater involvement in the mechanical properties of soil under different stress conditions.
