Carrier recombination in sonochemically synthesized ZnO
What is it about?
It is concluded that the sonochemical fabrication method offers a remarkably convenient means of modifying the relative content of the surface-to-volume defect ratio in ZnO powder grains and altering the dynamics of photoexcited carriers.
Why is it important?
The problem of defects in zinc oxide remains a key challenge for potential applications of this material in opto-electronics and spintronics.
