What is it about?
Consensus of scientists about certain issues (such as anthropogenic global warming, AGW) is frequently and wrongly used as an argument in political discussions. However, we demonstrate in a simple social model that consensus is not motivated my scientific truth, rather, it is motivated by individual gains that the respective scientists receive when they express certain points of view.

Why is it important?
The wrongful use of consensus argument provides pseudo-scientific justification for many ideas that as very wrong and lead to disastrous social and economic consequences when implemented, such as AGW and its accompanying dogmas of sustainable development, renewable energies and such like.
