How to teach nominalization by applying Production-oriented Approach, a new teaching approach which is widely used in China.

Why is it important?

Nominalization is a very important yet difficult linguistic resource for EFL learners and no classroom teaching researches have been conducted so far. This study demonstrated how to teach nominalization step by step and it is of significance for the language pedagogy of teaching nominalization for EFL learners.

Perspectives

This teaching research is very rewarding for me as a university English teacher for about 18 year, because my students gave me very positive feedback. Many advanced Chinese English learners feel distressed about how to improve their language complexity and formality, including my students. After taking my course, they saw the improvement of their own language output and developed a great sense fulfilment. It is also a great encouragement for me.
