Why is it important?
Studies that explore drivers’ decision behavior under GRIPs via discrete choice models have rarely been reported. In this paper, a logit model for predicting route choice probabilities is developed to capture the relationship between the route choice probability, driver attributes and GRIP messages.
Perspectives
The estimated GRIP response model may be incorporated within a dynamic traffic network simulation tool to assess network-level impacts of GRIP, thus facilitating better decisions on GRIP deployments.
