Why is it important?
There are several unique aspects of this study that makes it stand out. First, it focuses specifically on pregnant women who are a particularly vulnerable group during the Covid 19 pandemic. Second, it was conducted in a tertiary care hospital which typically handles more complicated cases. Third, the study examined not only the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women toward Covid 19 but also their practices, which can provide insight into how well they are able to apply what they know. Finally, the study findings suggest, that there is a need for better health education for pregnant women, which could have important implications for public health and practice.
Perspectives
This study looked at the knowledge, attitude, and practices of pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic in a tertiary care hospital. The results showed that most pregnant women had good knowledge of the symptoms and spread of the virus, but inadequate knowledge of the impact of COVID-19 on pregnancy. However, they had positive attitudes and practices toward preventive measures. This article/study highlights the need for health education for pregnant women for COVID-19.
