What is it about?

This work is about the validation of the Thai version of the Dry Eye-Related Quality-of-Life Score (DEQS-Th). The results support that the DEQS-Th is valid and reliable in evaluating ocular symptoms and their impact on QOL in dry eye participants.

Why is it important?

Dry eye is a common and growing eye problem worldwide. Chronic symptoms of dry eye can, subsequently, affect the patients’ multifaceted quality of life. Accordingly, the measurement of the impact of dry eye on patients’ daily life is currently recognized as a critical aspect of disease characterization.

Perspectives

The Thai version of the Dry Eye-Related Quality-of-Life Score is valid and reliable in evaluating of dry eye symptoms and their impact on a patient’s quality of life. This study also provides the cut-off score of the DEQS-Th for screening individuals with suspected dry eye. This tool can be useful for the primary assessment and monitoring of dry eye in clinical practice and research.
