What is it about?

This study discussed howmuch of healthcare providers in Ethiopia have the knowledge or awareness of the World Health Organization recommended practices about breastfeeding to prevent the transmission of the novel corona virus(COVID-19) from mothers to their babies.

Why is it important?

Healthcare providers' knowledge is imperative. Women and newborns are cared by front line health workers such as midwives. Thus, they must get reliable health information from the one who is caring them. In addition, global best practuce recommendations should be followed to halt the spread of pandemics.

Perspectives

This study discussed a very important topic in care of women and newborns whi are susceptible to the virus due to different conditions. Advice and counseling from healthcare providers plays utmost importance for women and newborns to stay safe from the deadly COVID-19.
