Why is it important?
The work is important for several reasons, it challenges a dualistic view of physical and mental health in adolescence, it examines the universality of sex-differences in maladjustment pattern, discusses the role of gender-inequitable environment, and emphasizes on gender-responsive health interventions in school-going adolescents.
Perspectives
As researchers in a multidisciplinary team, we examined adolescent health challenge to check if affective science theories and models capture real-world problem in non-western, gender-inequitable settings.
