What is it about?

Blepharospasm is the involuntary and unpredictable spasm of the upper facial muscles, especially around the eyes. It usually involves both eyes and can lead to temporary blindness. Some patients lose confidence in performing activities or working outside because of accidents. These affected patients experience a decreased quality of life and loss of opportunities. We have shown the effect of botulinum toxin treatment in decreasing spasm and improving the quality of life in Thai patients.
