What is it about?

Atrial fibrillation is the most common arrhythmia leading to stroke. ECG monitoring is essential in the management of atrial fibrillation. We have shown the usefulness of long-term ECG monitoring with smart wear, which complies with regulations as a medical device.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that long-term ECG monitoring with the smartwear enhances detection rate of atrial fibrillation. This helps to avoid overlooking a short and silent form of atrial fibrillation which is common after the treatment with catheter ablation.

Perspectives

Long-term ECG monitoring with the smartwear also visualizes a burden of arrhythmia. This feature promotes a management strategy to control the burden of atrial fibrillation.
