What is it about?
We were the first in the world to successfully eradicate the sweet potato weevil, Cylas formicarius (Fabricius) using SIT(sterile insect technique) SIT, a pest management method with low environmental impact, is attracting attention worldwide, and the results of this paper are an important cornerstone of the beetle eradication project. It also served as a catalyst for the promotion of sweet potato cultivation on Kumejima Island.
