What is it about?

Human PapillomaVirus (HPV) infections are common; progression to HPV related cancers can be prevented by timely vaccines. Dentists are an important component of healthcare workforce and should have a role in improving vaccination efforts. By incorporating vaccination in the scope of work of dental providers, we could improve access points for patients to avail these services.

HPV related Oral Pharyngeal Cancers are on a rise in the past decade. The vaccines could play an important role in preventing these.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. It's great to have this platform to reach a larger group of readers to raise awareness about the importance of this topic.
