What is it about?

Fractured neck of femur is a common condition with significant associated morbidity and mortality. Numerous guidelines are available for the management of such fractures but when is the ideal time to operate? Following an extensive review of the worldwide literature, a practical management policy for the timing of surgery is reported for these patients of variable age, fitness and type of surgery performed.
