Why is it important?

Osteoporosis tends to be thought of as a disease that only occurs in elderly people, but it can occur at an early age. One of the first signs is a fall on outstretched arms than causes a break in the bones within the arm. There are many factors that can predispose a person to osteoporosis and these can be managed.

Perspectives

Calcium deficiency and a low BMI can be two of the factors that can increase the risk of osteoporosis, therefore these can both be addressed.
