Why is it important?
Self-directed learning is vital in most healthcare settings, but the activities can vary between individuals, potentially causing a knowledge disparity between practitioners. By providing self-directed learning tools, the employer can promote uniformity of care throughout the organisation.
Perspectives
ECG interpretation was the focus of the study, but a similar process could be applied to other areas of healthcare. Group Orchestrated Self Directed Learning offers practitioners the means to identify activities or adjuncts that could grow their scope of practice, thus improving patient care.
