What is it about?
Are student paramedics aware of the emotional demands of their future role? What do student paramedics feel about what it takes to deliver high quality care? This research looks at how aware student paramedics are about their own feelings towards delivering compassionate care under pressure. The research shows that student paramedics are aware very early on in their programme of education and training, of pressures upon them to sometimes bury their deep feelings in order to get on with the tasks at hand. This is a valuable read if you are or seeking to become a student paramedic or a paramedic educator.

Perspectives
This work is important as hundreds of paramedic students enrol onto a graduate programmes every year and some with limited care giving experience. I believe gaining greater insight into the awareness and preparedness of these individuals can feed into improving their student experience through close partner working with paramedic placement providers and partner ambulance services.
