What is it about?
This letter to the editor discusses key methodological concerns in a study about pressure injuries and sarcopenia. We highlight the lack of correlation analysis and inconsistencies in the inclusion criteria regarding DXA and muscle strength testing. These issues are important for accurate interpretation of the study results. Our aim is to ensure scientific rigor and help future research improve in design and clarity.

Why is it important?
Pressure injuries and sarcopenia are major challenges in aging populations, especially in surgical patients. This commentary raises critical concerns about methodological gaps in a widely cited study. Addressing these issues helps improve research quality and ultimately enhances patient outcomes through more reliable evidence.
Perspectives
As a clinician working with older adults, I often encounter the complex overlap between sarcopenia and pressure injuries. I felt it was important to address the methodological limitations in the original study to ensure future research is built on solid evidence. I hope this letter contributes to improving the design and interpretation of similar studies in geriatric care.
