What is it about?
Chlorhexidine is a powerful antimicrobial used in many medical products, but it has historically only been used in limited chemical formulations due to chemical compatibility issues. In this paper, we show that chlorhexidine chemistry can be more powerful and versatile than previously thought when used in non-traditional formulations.

Why is it important?
This study shows that the commonly used antimicrobial may posses underutilized efficacy and power to better protect patients from infections if it is incorporated into medical products in unconventional formulations.
