Why is it important?

Claims are often made that encouraging shared care will bolster home dialysis patient take-up and these claims cannot be supported by current evidence.

Perspectives

This article points to the need for greater research into the area of shared care in haemodialysis and how this may or may not link into home dialysis, which is work I would like to see done. Also the Renal Registry could collect data on shared care to make the available data more robust.
