What is it about?
Dermal filler is a scary word to prospective patients. Most patients don't want to look "fuller". This article gives you words that are patient sensitive and helpful to use during a consultation, or educational meeting.

Why is it important?
Media and celebrities have scared off a lot of prospective patients with their "overfilled" and "overstuffed" look. As medical providers, we need to re-educate the public of what natural beauty is possible with appropriate use of dermal fillers. This article gives you ideas how to do that with your patients.
Perspectives
Once we stopped using the term "dermal filler" and replaced it with some of the other terms mentioned in this article, we could visibly see the relief in our patient's faces, and gained their confidence that we understood natural beauty. We decided to change all our verbiage to incorporate concepts that our patients would be familiar with, such as using ideas and words associated with makeup application. This made it relatable to the patient, and they were much more willing to trust us to provide them with natural, subtle results.
