In a cirrhotic patient, the ecchymosis over body might imply internal disease such as our case. Decompensated liver cirrhosis in this patient causing portal hypertension that patient tend to have upper GI bleeding such as variceal bleeding.

Therefore, it is important not to underestimate patient having ecchymosis over body, that might be a hint of disease inside the body.

To our best knowledge that this is the first case in the literature stating the association of Stabler's sign and portal hypertension.
