What is it about?
A questionnaire about living with a stoma was sent over 500 volunteers. It examined the impact a stoma may have - length of time following surgery, age, gender,stoma type and whether they experienced any problems managing the stoma.

Increase the knowledge base of people who look after new or existing patients.
Perspectives
Researching this topic and writing this article was a great exercise for me. As a stoma care nurse with many years of experience I enjoyed looking at the lives of ostomates at a much deeper level. Being able to share my findings will hopefully increase the awareness of my peers.
