Canine Ehrlichiosis is an important disease of canine species especially in tick endemic areas. There are known treatment regimen to handle this disease, however, relapse is a feature that hasn’t really been talked about and canine Ehrlichiosis is known for this feature. Why is it important?

My findings show that for optimum prevention of Ehrlichiosis relapse, the complete course of treatment must be followed and the immune system watched closely while boosting the immune system.

Perspectives

It was a pleasure to write this article, this case was personally handled by me while I practiced in Lagos, and I always thought it’s an experience worth sharing to both veterinary professionals and pet parents. I’m glad it is finally out there to help others navigate the disease and its recalcitrant recurrence.
