What is it about?

A pilot study which investigated perceptions of nursing in the 21st Century. The survey was distributed via social media platforms and asked respondents a series questions about what they thought nursing is. Respondents responded using Likert scales and open questions

Why is it important?

Our findings demonstrated that nursing is not easy to define, it continues to evolve and develop in line with expectations of nurses and the profession.

Perspectives

Nursing is a wide ranging multi-faceted profession, which has matured and developed since the time of Florence Nightingale. In order to fully understand the challenges faced by nurses and nursing as a profession it is important to understand how it is perceived by society.
