Why is it important?

This commentary article highlights the complex and diverse landscape that Advanced Clinical Practitioners are currently working in and some of the barriers they are encountering.

Perspectives

From the evidence I have reviewed it’s clear there are common barriers to effective implementation of ACP, as well as some benefits that may be gained by use of ACPs. This is a rallying cry to do what we can to remove unnecessary barriers and bureaucratic hoops to jump through to achieve effective implementation of ACP.
